S. Anselm’s started off well in the first ten minutes. We held ourselves together, by making really good passes and pushing forward

with the ball. We then scored our first goal. Foreamrke came back fighting strongly for the ball. The backs made some good tackles,

pushing the ball out to the wings. Olivia C as goalie made some excellent saves, at times doing the splits and falling over! However, Foremarke managed to score several times and at half time it was 4-1 to Foremarke.

Mr Brock told us some skills and gave us some tips, in order for us to improve in the second half. We began the second half strongly,

playing well as a team. We looked for each other when passing and had the confidence to dribble the ball up the pitch. Lily S did some excellent passes back to the defence in order for the direction of play to change. Nancy S marked players well, in order to win the ball

and had a few shots on goal, which were saved by the Foremarke keeper. Maria C made some good tackles and scored our second goal

of the game. But as time went on the Foremarke players gelled, growing stronger and stronger, resulting in more goals for them. They

were very good at having a player to provide the finishing touches in the D, in order to score.

It was a good game, against a strong opposition, but I feel the final score did not reflect the quality of play by the S. Anselm’s team. We

had our opportunities, but did not always capitalise on them.
