This was a superb game of soccer with both teams fired up from the very beginning. For the initial ten minutes of the game both teams moved the ball around and generally sized each other up. First to score were Hill House with a ball not caught cleanly from our keepers hands and despite desperate attempts to clear, it went in.
The S.Anselm’s attack was very threatening and an equaliser was soon administered off the feet of Elliot T in his debut appearance fresh from the Southern Hemisphere. The play became feverish with both teams working immensely hard, especially Freddie H and Paddy D who seemed to be everywhere at once and played with epic work rate. Some nice balls forward from Charlie H, Jack H and Alex V continued to give the Hill House defence some difficulties, sadly none of which could be finished despite the best efforts of Will A and Edward S.
The second half was less even with several soft shots squirreling past the keeper, who was not on top form. Although the game was incredibly well matched the trickle of goals persisted leaving S.Anselm’s 4-1 down at the final whistle.
Men of the match were Paddy D and Freddie H.
