This was tough match to play after the half term break. With the weather unsettled it was decided to play Twenty/20. S.Anselm's lost the toss and were asked to bat.The Trent bowlers were accurate and John W and Hugo R were finding it hard to score, Hugo was first out for 4 in the 6th over with only 18 runs on the board. Freddie H hit a couple of nice boundaries but then gave an easy catch and was out for 9.Jack M-M hit a four but was out for 8, Jack H made 4 and so it continued no one batsmen could impose themself and make a major contribution,. John W was next out for 13, Charlie \H struck two fouirs in his 11 and William H hit the only six of the innings in his 8. After 20 overs S.Anselm's had only managed 83 for 7 hitting only 7 fours and a six, far too many scoring opportunities were missed.
The Trent batsmen showed the S.Anselm's boys just how easy the game of cricket is, hitting the bad balls to the boundary and placing the ball into gaps and running well between the wickets, they reached the target of 84 without losing a wicket in only 11.3 overs. None of the S.Anselm's bowlers could hit good areas and conceded 16 fours and a six.
Trent were easily the best side we had faced , but S.Anselm's didn't do themselves justice, the boys were disappointed knowing they could play much better.
