Man of the Match – Will B-B
This was a much more spirited performance by a team that looked so much more confident and alert. For much of the game we were only one or two tries behind and we were unfortunate that Ranby scored off a knock on and that Jacob B (after a wonderful run) crossed the dead ball line and wasn’t able to ground the ball for a try. Both these misfortunes could have turned the game.
We rucked much more vigorously and we ran forwards with the ball with greater certainty. There were many unforced errors and our tackling was not as it should have been. However, many of the boys shone. Will B-B played brilliantly at scrum half, Nick T battled valiantly as pack leader and led his men by example, Fred B-B made some dents in the defence with some hard running and Paddy C made some good decisions and confidently organised his back-line. There is definitely something to work on here!
Well done lads but the coming training sessions will be very focused and tough so we gain a win before the term is out!
