2nd XV v Denstone College U12A Lost 27-14

A splendid afternoon for a game of rugby, with the autumn warmth setting the stage for our debut match.

The game started catastrophically with a failure to catch the kick off leading to a conceeded try within 10 seconds. The S.Anselm's side rallied well and confidence increased. Despite the setbacks of a further 3 tries, some sterling effort from Edward S and Jonathan D in defence really hampered the progress of the opposition.

The 2nd half saw a different type of rugby, with the S.Anselm's forwards being really committing. This strategy really gained ground and put Captain Charles within reach of a quick thinking fast tap penalty which bore fruit as our first try, beautifully converted by Alex W. A 2nd try was similarly set up with continuous rugged driving from the forwards. This was smuggled through by Henry T, in his 1st outing for the school.

Some excellent play must be mentioned from Isaac S, Oliver G and William W.

Well done guys a great 1st outing.
