2nd XV v Hill House

2nd XV v Hill House

2nd XV v Hill House

The team suffered from the fact that they had not trained together for well over a week and they were slow out of the blocks.  Despite some tackling, their bigger players punched large holes through our defence.  At times we started to send runners onto the ball and Tom D managed to score an important try but it was all a little too late.  Hill House gained in confidence and ran hard using their heavier players.  We did rally a little and there were moments when we counter attacked so we must gain confidence from these moments in the game.

We must work on the scrummage - ensuring that we drive over the ball as soon as it appears.  Our rucking needs to be more vigorous and united and we need to tackle harder and lower.  We also need to work on running onto the ball from flat passes.  The backs must run onto the ball and make decisions about what they will do with the ball before it is passed to them!  There is much to work on.

Result: Lost 46-5
