3rd XI v Ranby House Lost by 6 wickets

Ranby won the toss and opted to field. The S. Anselm’s 3rds found the wicket quite tricky and the bowlers surprisingly accurate this lead to a great deal of cautious batting. Sadly the top order batsmen were never able to adjust and were quickly despatched.  Top scorer for the day was Henry S with 7 runs. All too quickly the final set of bails fell leaving S. Anselm’s with only 57, most of those achieved by extras.

Ranby came out from tea confident of achieving their total, but were somewhat confounded by the superb bowling of Kevin H, who took 3 wickets and at no real cost. Unfortunately it was impossible to stop an accumulating run rate and despite some commendable fielding Ranby achieved the necessary score with 10 overs left and for only 4 wickets.  Elliot B was excellent in the slips and took a superb catch. Man of the match must be Kevin H for his great bowling.
