3rd XI v Ranby House Lost 0-5

The thirds enjoyed a challenging match against a stalwart Ranby House team. After an early honeymoon period of the first ten minutes, Ranby gained a lucky break through some patchy defence to put in their first goal.

Despite some sterling individual efforts the Anselm's team never really gelled. Some epic efforts were made by goalkeeper David C, pulling off some great saves. Michael H showed real promise up front with some excellent runs and crossing.

Sadly not enough shots were on goal enough to test the Ranby keeper. Sam W captained the side well and with some plucky tackling from James B and Seth A it looked like we could keep them out. But as the game progressed the opposition grew in confidence and a string of breaks resulted in a 5-0 defeat.

Man of the match must be awarded to Michael H, but the commendable efforts of Alfred H, Rory P and Jack T must be mentioned. Well done guys keep trying!
