3rd XI v Ranby House Won by 7 wickets

Ranby – 59 for 7

S. Anselm’s – 62 for 3

We expected that Ranby would prove to be tougher opposition than they were. They went in to bat first and were very slow to score runs. We bowled well and only conceded 9 wides in twenty overs. None of their players scored over ten. Ben E took two wickets,  Henry F. Charles A, Lewis J, Cameron D all took a wickets too. We were pleased that we kept their run rate down. Edward H’s careful bowling was crucial and some sharp fielding by Henry F and Ben E and Joe W certainly helped. Nick T showed some promise at wicket keeper too.

We then came into bat and, though we started slowly, we picked up the run rate. Nick P will be annoyed that he was out for 2 as will Cameron D. It was Henry F and Ben E who eased us home with a few 4s.

All in all another good day! The lads showed skill, intelligence and were impeccably behaved. Well done to all the players and especially Ben E who captained well and Henry F who both bowled and batted well.
