S. Anselm’s 260 Westbourne 215
This was a great game featuring several players on their debut outing for the school cricket sides. The game was played on a pairs basis which led to some fantastic fun.
S. Anselm’s won the toss and opted to field. Charlie L opened the bowling for the first time this season and was rewarded with an early wicket on his 3rd ball. Next Henry F, the Captain began his spell and was highly successful taking a total of 5 wickets. Some solid fielding with a particularly nice catch to Dominic A left S.Anselm’s in a good position with the Westbourne batters only able to secure a total of 215 runs by the end of the innings.
The S. Anselm’s batting showed some good improvement as a result of the extensive practice they have undertaken in the last week. The totals were kept down by the mere fact that they only got to face 2 overs a pair. Dominic and Henry F both accounted for themselves well. The real batting crown must go to Henry S who was lead run scorer of the day.
