Skipper Elliot B led his men bravely into the field against a daunting Packwood team. The 3rds were clearly outgunned and the muscle and weight of the opposition immediately began to limit possession of the ball. Some fantastic tackling skills of the 3rds limited the try count to a dribble, rather than a cascade.
Offensively the 3rds were stifled and never really had enough possession to do anything constructive. Jack M-M made several great offensive runs through the opposition game line, but always lacked the weight and the support for these bare fruit. The fiery defensive skills of Alex V were worthy of the 1st XV. Ivan S made some sterling challenges. The 3rd team must all be commended for not giving up despite the growing tide of points against them. Well done guys.
Man of the match was Jack M-M for his prowess in both attack and defence.
