This was an exciting trip to be on and the boys and girls really entered into the spirit of things. First of all we ate our lunch on the sunny banks below the castle walls and watched as Archie the Bald Eagle was put through some tests to show off his agility and speed. We then raced through the rooms of the castle and saw the displays before bounding up the motte to watch a trebuchet being fired 200 meters along the battlements. From there we marched to the dungeons where we were genuinely spooked by creepy gouls and horrible torturers. Clare was sentenced to death, Mr Mace had his head chopped off and Mr Smith had his insides pulled out - the kids were delighted! We got lost in the frightening hall of mirrors and sprayed with blood too! Charlie L held Lucy R's hand and eventually we came out into the sunlight and fled home!

A wonderful day and the kids were a sheer delight. Thanks to Mr Smith, Mrs Taylor, Miss Brewster, Miss Wetherley and Clare for assisting on this trip.
