This was a quite remarkable evening and love was certainly in the air!

The boys and girls made a super effort and they all arrived decked out in love hearts, reds and pinks. Some sported red roses in their lapels but all of them had rosey cheeks and big smiles. Mrs Mace and Mrs Northcott both wore their hearts on their shoes! Nibbles and drinks were served in the library before we proceeded into the dining hall. The spread was magnificent - ballons sailed above, love hearts littered the surfaces and lush red cloths adourned the tables. It really was a sight to see. A fabulous three course meal was served up with the best saved until last - stunning chocolate fondues and a chance to dip fruit and brownies into the fountains!

Whilst all this was going on, Poppy M and Charlie B managed to read some love poetry to a captivated audience (though not to each other they insisted)!

The children had all bought secret presents for each other and these were given to the boy or girl to their left. They had all chosen so carefully and gifts included hot water bottles, teddy bears necklaces and chocolate and they all showed genuine taste!
After several toasts (not least to the kitchen ladies who had put on such a marvellous spread) we raced up to the Common Room to belt out some songs on the Karoake machine. Mr and Mrs Berry led the singing and acted as DJs to ensure the whole thing ran smoothly whilst Mr Northcott made sure the singing was a raucous as possible! As you can see from the pictures there was no lack of enthusiasm.

An hour later, as the boys and girls slumped into their beds exhausted but exhilerated, they knew that they had celebrated this very important saint's day with real gusto and had just had a marvellous time! Well done to everyone involved!
