The pupils in Year 1 have already made an enthusiastic start to their new topic on ‘Houses and Homes’. On Friday afternoon, we grabbed our sketch books and pencils, put on our warm coats and found an ideal place to sketch…Mr and Mrs Northcott’s house!
The children sat on a waterproof rug and eagerly set about drawing the outline of the building. Each pupil then took lots of care to try and include every detail - even drainpipes, gutters, chimney pots and window sills were included. After twenty minutes of pure concentration, we headed back into the classroom to label our sketches and discuss the different features of the house.
Looking at the results from our budding little artists, we’re sure this topic is going to be another huge success!
