The best way to get a true flavour of S. Anselm's atmosphere is to visit the School in person. We are delighted to welcome families on any day to tour our school, see our outstanding facilities at first-hand and above all to meet our staff and pupils.
We feel it is important to meet with prospective parents early in the process of considering school choice and to learn as much as possible about your child and your hopes for them.
Appointments to meet with our headteacher, Mr Phillips, can be made throughout term time by contacting the school office on 01629 812734. It is advisable to book as early as possible.
We also offer regular Open Mornings as well as inviting prospective families to occasional concerts and events.
Open Mornings are a great opportunity to meet our teachers and pupils, ask questions and tour our excellent facilities. In the Michaelmas Term, our Open Mornings are as follows:
Nursery & Pre-Prep Open Morning
Friday 29th September, 9.30am to 11.30am
Whole School & College Open Mornings
Saturday 30th September, 9.30am to midday
Saturday 25th November, 9.30am to midday
We will be pleased to arrange a pupil guided tour of the school so that you get a genuine feel of school-life from our children's perspective and can ask as many questions as you need to.
Please note that whilst the whole school - Nursery, Pre-Prep, Prep School and College - will be welcoming visitors on Saturday 30th September, families who wish to see the Nursery and Pre-Prep are encouraged, if at all possible, to visit during the week when our younger children will be in lessons and you will be able to get a flavour of a normal school day.
Please call or email the school office to let us know you are able to attend on 01629 812734 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applying from abroad
Boarding at S. Anselm’s is an extremely attractive choice for overseas pupils. Our boarding staff are extremely caring and supportive and teachers are well placed to ensure that their specific academic needs are met. The school is at the heart of a National Park so the local environment is beautiful and typically English. Every year, pupils from overseas are accepted into the school but the majority of boarders are British. Hence, the school ensures that overseas pupils feel welcomed into a warm environment but that they are also surrounded by English culture and quickly develop their language. The school is centrally located in England and is close to major airports and motorways.
Information for forces families
Boarding at S. Anselm’s is an extremely attractive and popular choice for service parents and children. There are large numbers of boarders in the school. Thus, the weekends are full and vibrant, and the children are always busy (our weekend reports which you can find on this website will give you a flavour of just how busy and fun packed they are). With a long association with service families, our boarding staff are very well equipped to support the specific concerns that forces children may have and they constantly ensure that parents are kept up to date with the progress of their children. The central location of the school and the generous fee remission ensure that the school remains a popular destination for children with parents in the forces.
We have a number of service families who are happy to talk "off the record" to any prospective service families about the excellent boarding provision and those matters which are particular to parents in your situation. Please contact the office for these parents’ numbers.
