Boarders’ walk: Sunday 21st
We had a fantastic walk on Sunday
with a group of twenty-seven boarders. Starting in Youlgrave, we went down into
Bradford Dale, crossed the River Bradford and then up through Hopping Farm,
over Mawstone Lane to the moor on top. Wonderful views gave us all splendid
sights to look at while we had our lunch and frisbees and a rugby ball kept us
all entertained for half an hour or so once sandwiches, crisps, mars bars,
fruit and water had been consumed.
Cows also proved something of a fascination
to our young boarders. There was plenty of open space to run around, a few
trees to climb and bridges to navigate. A very welcome sight once we were back
in the village was an ice-cream van where thirty or so ice-creams were duly
prepared for us. We arrived back in school with an hour or so for free time
before all put their uniform on for church.
