Following the usual Saturday at school, the boarders enjoyed some free time in the afternoon. Many chose to either go in the ICT room (to check their fantasy football teams!) or to play card games in the dining room. Excitement grew amongst the children as snow was forecast. Following supper, Saturday Night Treat happened, with three different films being watched accompanied by the obligatory popcorn and lemonade (and even pizza!). There was a relatively early start on Sunday with an excellent Full English. Indeed it had snowed a little so teachers went outside to check the car park and minibuses, whilst children ran around outside or stayed warm inside. With a takeaway lunch from the kitchen, we headed to Chesterfield cinema. Mr Shepherd went to see ‘Annie’ with Year 6 and below, which is a modern take on the classic musical. Years 7 and 8 went to see ‘The Theory of Everything’, which documented the life of Stephen Hawking. Everyone was touched by film and it got great reviews all around. After a quick McFlurry everyone headed back to school for some knockout Frisbee and then one of Sue’s amazing roasts. Letter writing and reading or revision then followed. Another great weekend!
