On the evening of 12th June, S. Anselm's College enjoyed its third prize giving meal at the beautiful Hassop Hall. All of next year’s Kinder (Year 9) and their parents were invited to the meal, alongside current College students and their parents. The atmosphere was buzzing, with over 75 people enjoying the lovely food and silver service that Hassop is famous for.
As well as being a great social event and a lovely way to welcome new families into the College, the evening is also when prizes are presented to pupils from Year 8, Kinder (Year 9) and Derwent (Year 10).
The first announcement of the evening was to confirm that all our Year 8 students entering the College have passed Common Entrance. Special mention was made to Alex B and James D, who achieved an average of over 70%. Ursula-Marie and Theo had scored the marks required in their scholarship papers to be awarded academic scholarships to the College.
A number of prizes were also awarded to current College students:
Kinder academic prize – Josh G
Derwent academic prize – George W
Kinder effort prize – Morgan G
Derwent effort prize – Aisha R
College academic all-rounder award – Jack W
Biggest academic improvement in the College – Isabella R
Significant contributions to College projects – Thomas T and Lily W
Special mention was also made to Josh G, who also sat scholarship papers in the Lent Term and has been awarded an academic scholarship.
What a marvelous way to celebrate the many successes in S. Anselm's College this year.
Thank you to all the students and parents who attended. Our thanks also to Mrs Taberner, who organised a raffle to raise money for the Camino and to Mr and Mrs Howard for joining us for the evening.
