The first day of the sports tour was a memorable one for many reasons. In the morning the group headed across the island to visit the Challenor School.
This amazing school educates children from 5-18 years old with severe mental and physical disabilities. The S.Anselm's pupils learnt about what the teachers and students do at the school and then played and interacted with the children. It was an incredibly moving and emotional few hours and an experience that will live long in the memory for all those involved. They were so grateful that we had raised money for the charity but it was our visit that they really loved and the S.Anselm's pupils were a huge credit to the school.
The group then returned to the hotel and after a late lunch had their first experience of the beach and swimming in the sea, which they all loved.
We are just about to leave for our opening fixtures and a more detailed report on the first few days and some photos will follow shortly.
