Friends of S. Anselm's Clay Shoot

Friends of S. Anselm's Clay Shoot

Saturday 23rd April saw the third inaugural S. Anselm's clay shoot held at the Quarry Farm shooting ground, Cutthorpe.  13 teams shot 4 layouts on what turned out to be a chilly but glorious day.  Some very good shots battled it out, with the winning team ‘The Dream Team’ led by Steve Drury and included Martin and Dan Elwood, Brian Newton and Matthew Davidson lifting the shield.

The top Gun award for shooting 10 out of 10 clays on the pool shoot went to Wayne Johnson.

Following the shooting,  the teams were joined by their guests for lunch in a marquee a mile down the road in the grounds of the Peacock at Cutthorpe for the most delicious meal of roast beef, followed by lemon tart.

The day ended with a raffle and auction which secured £11,000 for The Friends of S. Anselm's.
