Junior Forms Adventure to Ravenstor 2015
The day had finally arrived for our three day trip to Ravenstor! After collecting packed lunches we were off to Cromford where the first of our four activities of the day started.
We all met with the Acclimbatize team and began our action packed day which involved canoeing on Carsington, a nature walk, scrambling, “weaselling” and abseiling on and around Black Rocks.
It was a brilliant day thanks to the great weather and the professionalism of the team of instructors who ran each activity. After arriving at Ravenstor and being allocated their rooms, the children then settled down for a delicious supper and more activities of rocket building and a picture identification hunt.
Our next day was equally busy and well fuelled by a full English breakfast. We again welcomed the Acclimbatize team who led den building and fire making, archery, team building games and probably the most popular of all the activities, the rock climbing wall!
It was a fabulous day that ended in the Ravenstor tradition with us launching our rockets and then donning our party outfits to hit the dance floor at the evening disco.
The final day saw us welcome the Peak District National Park guides who took us for a walk around the beautiful local area. The children learnt many facts about how the area was formed, creatures that lived there (past and present) and the many plants and rocks that make the area so unique.
It was another fantastic trip, really enhanced this year by the extra challenging activities the children were able to experience and enjoy.
