S. Anselm's was delighted to welcome Karl Hopwood to the school on Monday to talk about e-safety. He spoke to all of the Prep school in age-appropriate groups, encouraging them to use the internet and enjoy it but to be aware of certain aspects and, for the older ones, to be mindful of their "online presence" and what that might tell future schools or employers.
Karl then spoke to parents, reminding them of the need to apply the same rules of the offline world to the online world and that even if we are in the comfort of our own environments we are inviting other elements in through the internet.
Finally Karl gave the staff some training both for their personal and professional lives which was received with great interest.
All in all it was a stimulating, thought-provoking and enjoyable day in our new library which S. Anselm's hopes will prove to be of use to us all as we navigate this new world.
Further resources as mentioned by Karl are available on the parents section of the website - please click here to jump to it ( you will need to log in).
