On Friday evening, Kinder (Year 9) invited their parents to a three course dinner at school. The dinner was planned, executed and hosted exclusively by the students. Two weeks before, invitations and menus had been sent home and on the day itself, Kinder started getting things ready for the 6.30pm start.
Thea, James G and James D volunteered to be the chefs, who worked on preparing the lasagnes in the kitchen. They also made a vegetarian and gluten free versions for some of the guests. The rest of the team cleaned, tidied and set up the rooms in preparation for the evening.
Parents were welcomed with a drink on arrival. John and Bob said a few words to start the evening off and then everyone tucked into the starter: a buffet of antipasti, served in the College Dining Room.
After this, the guests moved to the Prep School Dining Room for the main course of lasagne, served with garlic bread and a side salad. Ice-cream sundaes followed, as did tea, coffee and mints.
All the Kinder students did a marvellous job of preparing, serving and clearing during the evening and it was lovely to see the parents having such an enjoyable time.
Thank you to all who attended and well done Kinder!
