Well done to all musicians who undertook ABRSM Practical music exams on Friday 4th November. On Tuesday 8th November, 6 pupils will undertake ABRSM Theory exams in the school music room starting at 5pm promptly alongside musicians nationally.

On Thursday 10th November there will be a lunchtime informal concert starting at 1:15 in the Hargreaves Hall (Tea & Coffee is available from 12:45 in the library). Parents, friends and family are most welcome to attend the concert and details of the performers will be placed on the secure are of the website.

On Saturday 12th November a professional Junior Singing Workshop will be taking place in the Hargreaves Hall from 9am – 11am with Mezzo Soprano Nicola Hunt. All Junior Years from Year 2 – Year 5 are welcome and those juniors who attend Saturday morning school will be involved.

I would like to invite parents and staff both new & old who enjoy singing to participate in the adult choir who annually perform in the esteemed S. Anselm's Carol Service which takes place this year on Thursday 8th December at 4pm in Bakewell Parish Church. We will perform Once in Royal David's City, O Little Town of Bethlehem & Away in a Manger (Normandy Version) in 4 part harmony alongside the Chapel Choir with rehearsals prior to the event. I am very pleased to announce the forthcoming concert for Chapel Choir who will performing Benjamin Britten's 'Saint Nicolas' with the Bakewell Choral Society on Saturday 26th November. The S. Anselm's Chapel Choir are highly featured as a separate Gallery Choir which includes soloists in this notoriously difficult Cantata composed by Britten after the 2nd world war specifically for the resources he had available to him at the time. Tickets are available from either the Bakewell Choral Society or Mark Percival - adults £12 & children free.
