Thursday 11th February was an extremely busy day for the Music Department. The National Children’s Choir of Great Briatin leader Suzzie Vango inspired us all to sing with style, panache and tone throughout six energetic workshops including children from Year 8s down to the pre-prep. An array of tongue twisting, beatboxing and canonic songs were learnt producing some fantastic results.
Ms Vango then coached the Chapel Choir before their performance commenced at Hassop Hall in what was a hugely succesful fundraising evening. Spellbound silence reigned before the Chapel Choir sung the spine tingling Karl Jenkins Adiemus followed by a superbly atmospheneric Faure Messe Basse Benedictus finishing with Lean on Me, A la Carte and of course, So Long, Farewell from the Sound of Music. Audience members were then treated to the Close Harmony Group and soloists featuring Shea J, Annie M, Francesca N, Charlotte W and Isaac B who received standing ovations. A huge thank you to all the stunning performers and appreciative audience as we shattered our fundraising target with very generous donations and bidders.
ABRSM Examinations will take place on Friday 26th February in the Music Room from 9:00am. Please do not forget music and instruments! Thank you, MP & ND
