The Katie Morag TV series is filmed on the Isle of Lewis and so you can imagine the excitement when 3 special parcels arrived from the island. Treasures discovered in the parcels included a lump of peat, different tartans, locally made socks and biscuits, shells, medals children win for Scottish dancing, as well as lots of newspapers, postcards and information booklets.
Our children will be putting together a parcel to send back to the Isle of Lewis with lots of goodies from the Peaks to say thank you.
In order to find out more about living on a Scottish island the children have also written letters to penpals on Lewis or children at Daliburgh Primary School on South Uist. As well as telling their penpals a little bit about themselves and our school, the children included questions in their letters to find out more about their penpals. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the activity and are waiting with eager anticipation for the postman to deliver their responses.
