This year the weather forecast was not great and all the odds were stacked against us for a very wet, cold and windy day. This did not dampen our spirits in the slightest and as it turned out we were extremely lucky with the sun shining at all the right times. Year 2 were ushered into the stable for a quick costume change, while the rest of us headed towards Bethlehem to be counted. We soon discovered there was no room anywhere and a kind shepherd let us rest in to his stable and shared an incredible story.
The Year 2 children took on the roles of the main characters herding sheep and leading a donkey into the stable. The rest of the children helped the shepherd to tell the Christmas story, joining in with songs, playing percussion instruments and dancing their little socks off.
After the wonderful nativity we enjoyed a tasty packed lunch and had chance to let off steam in the adventure playground. It was lovely to see the children inventing games, playing in the woods, damming the stream and working together as a team. From the playground we headed off to the craft tent and got busy making reindeer antlers, penguin cards and snowmen bookmarks. A very happy buzz could be heard coming from this tent with lots of chat about Mary and Joseph, the Whoops a Daisy Angel, kings and camels. I think it is safe to say that Pre Prep are very much in the Christmas mood, and are all full of excitement for the 16 more sleeps until Christmas day!
