Pre-Prep visit Chatsworth Farmyard for Christmas

Pre-Prep visit Chatsworth Farmyard for Christmas

At the end of the Michaelmas term the entire Pre-Prep department set off in a convoy of four school minibuses to enjoy our annual visit to Chatsworth Farmyard and the Christmas nativity.

The Year 2 pupils dressed up in fabulous costumes to help retell the story to the rest of the Pre-Prep children who were all waiting excitedly inside one of the barns. Having real animals involved; including chickens, sheep and of course a donkey, helped to bring the nativity story to life.

All of the children and staff enjoyed participating in the singing of traditional Christmas songs and carols, culminating in a rousing rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas to complete the occasion.

After a delicious picnic lunch the children had chance to look around the farmyard at all of the different animals, including goats, pigs, ponies, hens, sheep and donkeys, with everyone having their own favourite to see.

An hour of Christmas crafts, followed by a run around in the fantastic adventure playground finished off another successful trip. The children all behaved beautifully and were a pleasure to take out.
