As part of their work on rhyming stories the children in reception enjoyed reading the story of The Gruffalo. The familiar story created lots of interest and this morning we received a letter from the Gruffalo!
He invited us to wrap up warm and take a stroll in the woods on his very own Gruffalo Trail. The children decided we must take him some food, unfortunately we couldn’t get our hands on any scrambled snake or roasted fox but they all agreed bird seed would do. As we were about to set off we realised it might be dark in the woods so a torch was also packed into our survival kit. The children were filled with excitement as they began their adventure; we followed the clues left by the Gruffalo and used our phonics skills to hop from one clue to the next.
We wonder if the Gruffalo was hiding behind a tree watching us?
