We are excited to announce that S. Anselm’s is now fully licensed to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (‘DofE’) to pupils in the College. DofE is the world’s leading youth achievement award and the programme helps young people push personal boundaries, gain new skills as well as enhance their CV or university applications.
Starting from January 2017, Derwent will commence their DofE programmes at the Bronze level. They will choose which activities to complete for the physical, skill and volunteering sections. These must be done for an hour a week for either 3 or 6 months. They will also commence training for the expeditions which will be completed later in the school year. This will include training in navigation, first aid, cooking and field craft.
Letters, information leaflets and consent forms have been sent out both in hard copy format and via email to parents of pupils in Derwent. Questions about the programme can be sent to Robin Backhouse, DofE Co-ordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
