On Friday 9th October, the students in Kinder prepared and hosted a meal for their families. Planning had started two weeks before. Discussions about what menu to offer resulted in everyone agreeing that curry the best way to go! This would be accompanied by poppadums, pickles and chutneys, rice and naan. This would be followed by baked apples with mango sorbet with coffee and mints to finish. The parents would be offered a choice of mineral water, wine and Indian beer. The College chose to have ginger beer for themselves!
Kate from the kitchen kindly ran through many aspects with them, from basic food hygiene to how to prepare a meal using their own College kitchen. The night was an overwhelming success, with every member of Kinder performing their roles brilliantly. To top things off, they even fully cleaned the dining room and kitchen and sorted out all the used cutlery and plates afterwards!
