Stained Glass Art

Stained Glass Art

Jane Littlefield stained glass window Artist

In Art lessons last week children enjoyed having Jane Littlefield –a local stained glass window Artist working with them.  Jane has been commissioned by the school to make stained glass windows for the new library. She is involving the children in the design stage and hopes to be able to include some of the children in the glass painting later on.

In Art lessons Jane has worked with every child from Year 3 through to Year 8. It has been really interesting to watch Jane demonstrate the process of making a stained glass window, much of the materials and methods remain unchanged since Medieval times. The children have made some lovely drawings, some of these will be selected to be painted onto the stained glass.

The resulting stained glass promises to be a stunning display of colour and creativity. It will be seen for generations to come.
