The good weather continued all weekend and was perfect for our scheduled team challenge sessions. The boarders were divided into teams of mixed ages and the first challenge was to think of a suitable name for their team. We had ‘Team Bananas’; ‘Teen Vegas’ in honour of Jessie’s 13th birthday and ‘Rebel without a Clue’. The morning session comprised of four challenges – Shrinking Vessel; Sheep and Shepherd; Marshmallow Tower and the favourite Spider’s Web. The hot weather meant a much needed refreshment break was welcomed by all part way through the morning, with an orange juice lolly cooling everyone down nicely.
The afternoon challenges consisted of – Giant Matchstick; Minefield; Nine Cone Challenge and Team Tie Up. All of the teams applied themselves brilliantly to each challenge and it was great to see each team member, no matter their age having an input. After completing all eight of the tasks it was time for a cool down, with a quick change into swim wear, whilst the staff set up the water slide. Great fun was had by all, as the photos show!
After a tasty roast lamb dinner and letter writing session there was time for a quick game of manhunt outside before bed time. A great day was had by all - thanks to Miss Phillips, Mrs Elvin, Mr Watt and Miss Southam for helping me to give the Boarders such a fun filled day!
