Kinder had a little taste of their upcoming adventure at the start of the summer holiday. On Sunday 10th July they will fly to Spain to walk the final stages of The Camino de Santiago, the pilgrimage route to the shrine of the Apostle St. James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia in northwestern Spain. It is a fitting challenge for Kinder, as they come to the end of their first year in the College and luckily for them, Derbyshire has some great walking country where they can train.
On Friday Kinder enjoyed a circular route starting in Castleton and it took them over Mam Tor, Back Tor and Lose Hill before they dropped down into Hope. A welcomed refreshment break meant the worse of the showers were missed and the group returned to Castleton by a stroll along the river. All were fit and enthusiastic!
