Friday’s History lesson started with Year 6 being invited to Pre-prep to find out and enjoy Year 2’s work and displays on the Great Fire of London including diary extracts, newspaper articles and 3D displays. As you may have expected, the standard was very high and the work was beautifully presented. The children were then delighted to see an exquisite artefact from 1666 when Arabella L proudly showed a snuff box which her father had collected.
The intrigue continued back up at the Prep School where the class transferred into the library and started their research into one aspect of Tudor life. The children animatedly listed a range of topics they might choose: food and drink, clothing, crime and punishment through to the Spanish Armada and the voyages of discovery. Year 6 will now be researching their selected topic and getting prepared for a presentation to parents on Monday, 21st March at the Old House Museum….we look forward to seeing you there!
