Fine Art GCSE students visit the Graves Art Gallery in Sheffield

Three the College's Fine Art GCSE students visited The Graves Art Gallery in Sheffield on Tuesday 7th February to see an exhibition of photography.

The students have begun a project on Narrative Art, so it was useful to explore how the photographs depict urban landscapes, many of which contained narrative content. In the permanent collection there was also a small collection of narrative paintings, including the beautiful painting seen behind the students, by the Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones.

It was also interesting to see ‘Comfort Blanket’ a huge new tapestry created by the Turner Prize winner, Grayson Perry.
