Y1 Mediaeval Banquet – black-bird pie on the menu!
The Lords and Ladies of Year 1 concluded their Turrets and Tiaras topic today with an extravagant mediaeval banquet.
Following our work on alliteration earlier in the week, they created banqueting menus and dined on chewy chicken pie, perfect pecking peacocks, hot honeyed hog, bubbling black-bird pie and sizzling sweet swan, all swilled down with a few glasses of wine (of the blackcurrant juice variety!) They have all worked incredibly hard this half term and with great interest and enthusiasm. Thanks to everyone who brought in artefacts, and also to Julie and the kitchen staff for helping with the banquet and producing such tasty pies.
