After the bank holiday weekend, Year 3 had an exciting
return to school when they used Tuesday morning to investigate two local
Time was spent in both Great Longstone and Little
Longstone where the pupils found out a number of interesting geographical
features such as the physical setting of the villages and the shape they have
They also completed a traffic survey where they
recorded all the different modes of transport used in the village. A walk
around each of the villages enabled the children to identify modern and
traditional houses by looking at the different features and type of stone they
we made out of.
Sketches were made, tallies recorded and extra
information noted down ready for us to explore back in the classroom.
