The Year 5 had a two day excursion to Whitby and the North York Moors, where they experienced an exciting programme of events.
These included a walk round Whitby, climbing the 199 steps, a free time spending spree and a hair raising time in the Dracula Experience.
The afternoon saw much fun and laughter on the beach: rounders, paddling in the sea, kites and burying each other in the sand. It was then time to sample some of England’s best Fish and Chips. Having split into 3 groups we headed back to the pier with our mouths watering.
However, the seagulls also had desires on our lunches; and proceeded to launch wave after wave of attacks upon us, taking chips, fish and even a whole sausage.
The accommodation was superb; and evening activities included beachcombing, a walk to Robin Hood’s Bay and a team word game.
On Thursday, we had a fabulous day with author James David, walking through woods, streams and following his Aqua Crysta trail. He really brought the books alive with his imaginative stories and activities.
Tea and cakes in the woods completed a fulfilling day, then back home. A brief stop to have a meal on route before arriving back bang on 7pm.
An amazing couple of days.
