On Tuesday 10th May, We took the Y5 classes to the fabulous Old House Museum for a Victorian history morning.
We began the morning by singing a Victorian wash day song, before splitting into three groups.
Our activities were then:
- Outdoor games-including marbles, quoits, hop-scotch and skipping.
- Looking round the museum at farming implements and the cotton industry.
- The whole process of washing clothes from preparing the soap flakes, scrubbing stains out, pounding in the tub etc.
Lots to see and learn. History on our doorstep.
