Year 2 children have been inspired to write the most fantastic adventure stories recently for their ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ project following an exciting, fun-filled morning at Carsington Water.
They took with them some pre-prepared ‘mini-mes’ (laminated cut-out photographs of themselves in different poses) and then placed them against a range of dramatic backdrops around Carsington Water and took photos of them on the school iPads. Once back at school, they then pieced together the images to create an exciting adventure story telling the tale of what happened when they found a magic pebble and began to shrink!
Everyone was really inspired by the beautiful surroundings and this helped the children to include some fantastic adjectives, similies and alliteration in their descriptive writing. They have also used their photographs to create a comic strip story using the iPads and had lots of fun adding suitable sound effects!
