Year 3 Science through Boules

Year 3 Science through Boules

Year 3 had a fun Science lesson where they played a game of boules! They used a ‘push’ force to roll their ball towards the ‘jack’. We played the game on three different surfaces and the pupils had to decide the amount of force that was required for each different surface and explain how friction acted upon the ball to slow it down. Some pupils even thought about how other factors, such as the wind, would affect the ball and bowled accordingly. One thing is for sure, we have some very talented boules players in Year 3!
