time again for the Year 4 annual pilgrimage to the DEWA Museum in Chester. The first part of the day saw the children
being drafted into the Roman Army and arriving at their new barracks in
Chester. We were able to walk through a mock-up Roman street and see shops and
a bath house. After that it was a look at the different historical layers
that archeologists had found beneath the
museum. The children were then able to
dress up in armour and play with various exhibits before lunch.
highlight, as always, was our march to the amphitheatre with a Roman soldier.
Here the children practised fighting skills as well as different
formations. A great trip as always!
