Year 7 Print-making Workshop with Mary Wardle Monday 17th October
“It was really fun and I enjoyed learning how to do something which was new” Georgina S
Year 7 were off timetable for part of the morning on Monday 17th October taking part in a print-making workshop. They had already made their printing blocks and these had been varnished prior to the workshop.
Year 7 carefully applied the ink to the block, then worked it into the textures using scrim. They polished the block to remove any excess ink using tissue paper. When their block was inked up, pupils operated the printing press themselves. They printed from the block with a lot of pressure onto good quality damp watercolour paper. The end prints were fantastic! Well done year 7.
