On Thursday night we were fortunate enough to welcome two fabulous history teachers from Uppingham - Mr Birch and Mr Murrens. They arrived in Medieval garments and wowed our boarders with tales and insights into life in the Middle Ages as they transported them back to 1348 and the reign of Edward III and the tyranny of the vile Black Death. Firstly, the pupils were given various roles from King to serf and were split into their various social groups. Each group then explored food, fashion, work, disease and entertainment and learnt just how varied life was according to your rank. Thankfully we all returned safely - relieved to back in the 21st century! A great evening and the first meeting of the newly established S.Anselm's History Society.
