Baroness visits the school

S. Anselms was delighted to welcome Baroness Massey of Darwen to the school. Baroness Massey is a Labour Peer in the House of Lords with special expertise on education and child supprt. As she toured the school she was impressed by the facilities and in particular the happy positive pupils. She had a long session with our scholarship set 5A who quized her on everything from Trident to the role of women MP's and Peers, as well as the recent election.

A former french teacher herself, she was particulraly impressed with Mr Donaldson's 2A french class with whom she chatted in french!

All in all it was a super visit and "well worth the effort of coming up to beautiful Derbyshire, and seeing all these lovely children playing in such a breathtaking campus and location."
