Well, this was a diverse weekend with activities ranging from cream teas to bushcraft, jewellery making to Cornish Long Ball. Perhaps we should start with the intrepid 4th year who struck out on Saturday and crashed into the Wildgoose's gorgeous estate in order to partake in some extreme bushcraft. They learnt how to do the most vital things to survive in the wilds: they lit fires (yes despite the torrential rain they really did), they learnt how to make a basic shelter, how to set traps and so on and so forth. All credit to the whole lot of them who managed to stay the course and return home muddy but upbeat and full of excitement.
Charlotte P took part in the IAPS swimming finals on Saturday and did splendidly well.

Meanwhile, another bunch set off to take Oakham by storm and they return loaded with prizes and items that they had made. Activities were wide ranging but looking at the smiles on their faces, lunch was pretty near the top of the list for many!

For the rest of us mere mortals this was a time to hunker down and rest back at base. The junior girls went for "one of those walks with Mrs Price" which always includes gentle chit chat (and lots of it!) beautiful scenery, hot chocolate in buckets and bags of cake too! The junior boys stretched their legs playing Cornish Long Ball in the sports hall with Mrs Flack. The senior girls went back in time and sat in Mrs Bhamra's kitchen making jewellery and reminiscing about the old times at Hillcrest! The boys ate cake and scones in the Common Room before performing hilarious sketches to the rest of the boarding community in the early afternoon. Then it was still more hot chocolate and a film.

The Fifth year managed to get some solid revision done during this time and certainly seem on top of all things CE! This was a simple weekend as the weather held us back a little but there is no doubt that one and all had a fabulous time.
