Boarders' Weekend 20/ 21st September

Boarders' Weekend 20/ 21st September

On the Saturday, a very strong S. Anselm's girls hockey eleven were undefeated at Mount St Mary's - so the team goes from strength to strength. The boys were not so lucky against Winchester House at Rugby school where they lost 49-5 but by all accounts they played well and looked the part. The boys also relished the opportunity to run out on the same ground that saw William Webb Ellis pick up a football and run in the early 18th century!

That night the Storrs Fox boys' dorm had their Pot Noodle treat in the Hargreaves Hall and flopped into bed.

On Sunday the boarders were up bright and early and joined their parents for a hefty breakfast of bacon and eggs before they went to a service in the hall marking the Harvest Festival. Tons of produce was laid out and Mrs Lings delivered her usual inspiration as she pointed out the miracles of God's bounty.

After that an Austrian lunch (complete with sauerkraut) was served to support the music tour to Vienna and then the whole school piled onto the coach to Carsington Water. As predicted, this was a big hit and the boys and girls cycled, climbed, built rafts, walked, kayaked all afternoon in the glorious sunshine.

Next weekend is exeat and after that the fun will start all over again!
