This was another busy weekend for the boys and girls of S. Anselm's and they were busy throughout the whole weekend. Saturday involved some matches against Ranby House and the 1st XV and U11 B teams were delighted with their wins. Tom Croft of Leicester Tigers and England gave an inspirational pep talk to the 2nd XV up on the top pitch.
This no doubt contributed to Jaques T achieving the highest tackle count in that game when he made eleven thumping tackles! The hockey players were equally as successful at Lincoln Minster.
That night the boys and girls woolfed down their tuck and crashed out. The 5th Year boys had their treat and went to the Hargreaves Hall to watch a DVD.
Sunday meant a lie-in and a hearty breakfast. The Sunday service was delivered by Mrs Woodhouse, the Headmistress of Abbotts Bromley, and was based on the need to take risks to achieve greatness.
The afternoon was as packed as one could possibly imagine. Our brightest and best went to compete at Repton in the Repton Challenge where they achieved third place against eight other schools. The girls went to Wrekin College to play netball (the boys football was cancelled at the last minute unfortunately).
A large group went of to watch Liverpool versus Manchester City which saw five goals being scored.
The girls of Garden House and Slieve Mor went yomping around Bakewell and along the river stopping off for hot chocolate and cake along the way!
Hillcrest did some art and craft work and most of the boys spent two hours outside playing "Manhunt" and "Capture the Flag". This was a muddy and exhausting two hours of organised tomfoolery! There was even some time for Origami inbetween!
The Garden House girls wanted chocolate and they got it in spoon fulls as they spent the late afternoon baking. Oh yes - and eating too!
Mr Northcott's evening prefects' meeting asked the prefects to solve some pretty tricky leadership scenarios but the brain cells were well oiled with mars bars!
