Boys Games: The New Team
The boy’s games department have started the new school year with real fervour. A selection of talented new coaches have joined our ranks of experienced managers. Pupils have had a terrific start back and are working harder than ever in their games lessons.
The new timetable is enabling us to have even better staff to pupil ratios allowing us to focus on the development of every pupil as an individual. The changes to the structure of games means we are making much better use of our fantastic facilities.

Robbie Tadman - has joined us with a terrific background in a vast range of sports. He was selected for the English Schools Ski Squad to race and train in Austria. Has played for a string of Rugby clubs and is a level 2 coach. He stills plays cricket and has the acclaim of having coached Stephen parry, a current country cricket player for Lancashire. Robbie is also both a trampoline coach and an ardent triathlete.

William Frogatt – Will has joined us literally as Mr Watt’s right hand man, whilst Jon recovers from his recent shoulder operation (the result of his cumulative sporting excesses!). Will has previously coached here in extras lending his expertise in exciting areas such as Ultimate Frisbee and Rugby 7’s. He has tremendous enthusiasm and a great sporting heritage, having played rugby for Derbyshire and Durham University. He is also an exceptional cricketer, footballer, hockey and badminton player. We’re massively lucky to have him with us!

Paul Berry – Obviously I’m not new, but am delighted to be taking up this additional role. As the new head of boy’s games I’ve been really excited to take up the helm with a team of existing experts in their field and also to inducting and introducing some really talented and enthusiastic new coaches. It’s really nostalgic to once again to be running a games department, as I’ve done in three other schools. The pupils and staff here at S. Anselm’s are so passionate about their sport and I am really honoured to work with them. I’d love to be able to carry forward the torch that was lit by Mr Callun and I’d like to pay tribute to his massive efforts with sport here at S. Anselm’s

The pupils have already witnessed the intense passion for sport embodied in our new sporty staff. Their massive commitment has already been demonstrated in areas such as the pre-season rugby and the early morning fitness sessions for boarders. We must not overlook the sterling efforts of those long established in the department who have continued inculcate their charges with alacrity.
